Lookalike domain checker

Lookalike (typosquatting) domains exploit small visual or typing differences. This tool systematically generates the variants attackers most often register and shows which currently exist, so you can decide which deserve attention.

Only check domains you own. This takes up to a minute. PixelPrivate looks up DNS for likely variants and retrieves the public homepage of a few registered ones. It never registers or interacts with them.

What this checks

  • Up to ~120 high-likelihood variants per scan
  • Which variants resolve in DNS
  • Hosting and certificate indicators for those that respond

How to use it

  1. Enter your domain.
  2. Sort candidates by risk.
  3. Open evidence for the high-risk ones; allow-list domains you own.

Methodology and limitations

Only a sample of the possible variants is generated and Unicode (IDN) homoglyph coverage is limited. Automated indicators only, not legal findings. Read the full security methodology.

Key terms

  • Typosquatting — Typosquatting is registering domain names that are common misspellings or mistypings of a legitimate brand’s domain..
  • Lookalike domain — A lookalike domain is a domain name that closely resembles another, using typos, extra words, different extensions or visually similar characters, often to impersonate a brand..

Frequently asked questions

Should I register all the lookalikes myself?

Registering the few most likely typos can be sensible, but it is impossible to cover everything. Monitoring is more practical than defensive registration alone.
