Policy
Acceptable use and responsible scanning
Last updated: 2026-10-03.
Authorization
PixelPrivate performs defensive checks against publicly accessible assets. You may only assess or monitor domains that you own, manage, or have explicit permission to assess. The free check exists so owners can look at their own domains.
What PixelPrivate does
Passive DNS lookups and a small number of ordinary HTTP(S) requests. It identifies itself with the user-agent PixelPrivateScanner/1.0 (+https://pixelprivate.com/acceptable-use).
What PixelPrivate does not do
- Brute force, credential attacks or password guessing
- Exploitation or attack payloads
- Destructive testing or denial of service
- Unauthorized access of any kind
You must not
- Use PixelPrivate to enumerate or perform reconnaissance on domains you have no authorization to assess.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas or bot protection.
- Attempt to use the scanner to reach private or internal systems.
- Use Brand Shield findings to harass, or to make unsupported public accusations about a site operator.
Enforcement
We apply rate limits, quotas and verification, and may restrict or suspend access for abusive patterns such as repeated scans of unrelated domains or automated enumeration.
Requests from domain owners
If you operate a domain and believe PixelPrivate is scanning it inappropriately, contact us via the contact page; we will investigate and can exclude your domain.
